Three decades of guiding, consulting & design
For over thirty years, we have devoted our lives to the art of African safaris. Since 1992, our involvement has ranged from camp management and professional guiding to designing and advising on highly customized private journeys in partnership with local operators and guides.
Mark earned his Professional Guide’s License in Zimbabwe in 1994 and has guided across Africa ever since. Over decades, we’ve built deep networks, on-the-ground insight, and strong relationships with respected operators throughout East and Southern Africa.
While Mark personally guides select trips each season — spending up to 100 days in the field — most journeys are led by trusted partner guides who uphold our standards of care and expertise.
A Heritage Rooted in Africa
Our family’s story is woven into Africa’s land and people. From generations farming in South Africa to settling amid Zimbabwe’s granite kopjes, our connection to the continent is not just professional — it is ancestral. This heritage instills in us a profound respect for wilderness, local cultures, and the importance of sustainable tourism.
Today & Beyond
Today, we combine our personal passion with decades of professional experience to help craft bespoke journeys defined by authenticity, depth, and detail. Mark continues to revisit regions annually, while Maria travels widely to evaluate new experiences and maintain strong relationships with partner lodges and guides.
Traveling often with our children has enriched our perspective on family safaris. From the moment you arrive in Africa until your last evening beneath the stars, we coordinate every step to make your journey meaningful, memorable, and seamless.
